I am Joe Ligammari (aka Joe New York), a professional Photographer and Artist, living in Brooklyn NY. My career spans over 30 years.
My website Joe New York Photography by Joe Ligammari offers a look at New York City through my perspective.
New York City can be beautiful, pathetic and inspiring. I am continually attempting to show all aspects of New York City through “straight-ahead-photography” and some artistic influence I may feel that enhances the look and feel of the moment. Most of the time my mood at the “moment” can effect the final image “look”.
Having lived in New York City my whole life (65 years!) I believe I am very qualified to take you around the city through my photography and brief written narratives That is the main reason for using the name Joe New York Photography for this website.
I am basically a self taught photographer, started over 30 years ago shooting film, developing and printing all photographs in my real life “darkroom”. Plenty of tanks, trays, chemicals, thermometers and an enlarger. I have taken photography and design courses at the School of Visual Arts and Cooper Union.
You can purchase prints of my photography displayed on this website. I believe prints make excellent wall art for your home and business. Some of my prints are displayed in homes and businesses throughout the US.

All my Fine Art Prints are printed in-house using Epson Inkjet Printers, using archival premium paper and ink. According to Epson, this combination yields longevity ratings exceeding 100 plus years before any visible fading occurs, but “who knows” for sure?
